| Introduction Gender Security and Education For All (ED3022 at UEL) is a module of learning designed to develop practical skills and understanding of a complex set of interconnected contemporary issues to do with the differences between women and men, and the relationships between them; gendered identities; school; education and, building a more just and peaceful world. It offers the opportunity to learn about community development practice through identifying and addressing the complex learning needs of specific communities. It considers how to equip the variety of actors, including people working at different levels in education, civil society and government, with the knowledge, understandings and skills for promoting gender security through formal and informal education contexts including broadcast and digital media. The module’s theoretical focus, is on understanding the role of formal schooling and informal education in the formation of gender identifications and contemporary gender inequalities. The practical focus of the module is on the development of learning resources about these issues that address the learning needs of specific communities. | |
